I drive past this view every day on my journey to work. I love the way this field changes throughout the year; as the crops grow and are harvested, and the land prepared for the next year.

I’m hoping to share this journey with you over the next year, so keep your eyes peeled for more shots telling the story of this field.

I chose to share this photo purely for the double shadow, which I really like. This laptop is an essential part of producing the photographs you see on this site, working away behind the scenes for little glory and recognition. I feel it deserves its 5 minutes in the limelight!

So I’ve finally bought a DSLR, and I love it! The change in raw picture quality alone has really surprised me. I can’t wait to become better acquainted with my new friend, and find out what he can do… Along with the standard issue Canon 18-55 IS kit lens bundled with the camera I picked up a Canon 50mm f/1.8 II prime. I’m so glad I got this little bargain for it’s lovely wide aperture, allowing me to play with shallow depth of field shots such as today’s, much more easily than before.
